1.  Paul Thissen represents everything that is new and fresh and honest. A lot of voters say they are tired of the old politics and they want someone new. He might be just the candidate to get Minnesota back on track.
 
2.  Thissen cares about a new Minnesota and knows that our demographics will be greatly changing with the retirement of the Baby Boomers. He wants seniors to be able to retire in comfort and with dignity and will make it possible for as many as possible to retire in their own homes if at all possible.
 
3.  He knows that in our global economy and society, our children must be educationally prepared. He is aware that our educational system is going bankrupt with all the budget cuts. He wants to reduce class sizes and increase funding. He knows that the children are our future.
 
4.  He wants to improve Minnesota's infrastructure. He is committed to building a statewide infrastructure comprised of 21st century roadways and environmentally responsible mass transportation systems that will support economic growth in all parts of the state. 
 
5.  He wants Minnesota to become a global leader in the 21st century global economy. Paul Thissen has a broad economic vision and a confident optimism about our state’s ability to rebuild and grow. He knows we have an educated workforce and nationally recognized hospitals and clinics. He wants to change the way we present our state to businesses in order to attract the growing and successful companies needed to provide all Minnesotans with living wage employment.

6.  Paul Thisssen's vision for health care is that Minnesota will be a place where every man, woman and child can see a doctor or nurse for the care they need when they need it regardless of income and regardless of where they live in the state. Period. This is one of the reasons why he is endorsed by the Minnesota Nurses Association.

7.  He believes that strong family farms are essential to the continued viability of rural communities and to our entire state. He promises to fight to provide stability, predictability and new opportunities so family farmers can thrive for many generations. He promises to work with federal partners to provide needed support. He will also enforce Minnesota’s corporate farm laws.

8.  Paul Thissen has the intelligence and wisdom to know what Minnesota needs in order to be a great state again. He graduated from Harvard University with high honors in 1989, then went on to the University of Chicago Law School, where, in 1992, he also graduated with high honors.

9.  In 2006, Paul was named one of Forty Under 40 top business professionals in the Twin Cities by the Twin Cities Business Journal. In 2008, he was recognized as one of the 100 Influential Minnesotans in Health Care by Physician Magazine. He was named one of the Twin Cities “Best Brains” in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine.

10. On a personal level, Paul Thissen is very personable and easy to like. He always goes out of his way to greet people. You can tell he genuinely likes people rather than just looking for votes. He will stand up for what he believes in yet is willing to change his opinions if it turns out that facts don't agree with his opinions. He is willing to stand out in the cold to fight against injustice, as he did for the GAMC protest in front of the Governor's Mansion.

TEN REASONS TO VOTE FOR R. T. RYBAK FOR GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA

Here's the second in a series of ten reasons to vote for each candidate. This one is ten reasons to vote for R. T. Rybak.

1.  R. T. Rybak has executive experience. He's mayor of the city of Minneapolis. He just started his third term.
 
2.  He has more than twice the number of Facebook fans than any other candidate. He's very popular and therefore very electable.
 
3.  Whenever tragedy strikes in Minneapolis he is right there to lend a hand and his support. Examples are the I35W bridge collapse and the slaying of three men at the Seward Market. It's obvious he cares about the citizens of Minneapolis. 
 
4.  Mayor Rybak is also there when good things happen, such as the opening of the North Star Line and the breaking of ground for the homeless youth center. In other words, he's always there for people in good times and bad.
 
5.  Rybak was successful in balancing the budget of Minneapolis.
 
6.  Mayor Rybak was instrumental in revitalizing parts of Minneapolis, especially in North Minneapolis with the Great Streets Program.
 
7.  He wants to put the people of Minnesota and jobs first. On his website he says, "In good times and in bad, the single best investment we can make is in the people of Minnesota. The heart of our strategy for economic recovery begins with people, because if we have a talented, well-trained workforce, innovation flourishes and jobs will grow. Our next generation is our most valuable yet. We cannot fail to give them the education and training they need to succeed."
 
8.   He wants quality, affordable health care for everyone. 
 
9.   He has a proven track record of getting things done and having a plan to accomplish the things that are important to Minnesotans.

TEN REASONS TO VOTE FOR MARK DAYTON FOR GOVERNOR OF MINNESOTA

Here's the first in a series of ten reasons to vote for each candidate. This first blog is ten reasons to vote for Mark Dayton.

1.  Mark Dayton has four decades of public service experience. He's the only candidate with this many years of solid DFL experience.
 
2.  He truly cares about the people of Minnesota and about making this a better state. He has shown time and time again that he puts Minnesotans before any financial or personal gain.

3.  Minnesota needs a progressive governor. Mark Dayton has been a part of progressive politics since the days he protested the Viet Nam War.

4.  He has a history of being completely honest. In the case of Mark Dayton, an honest politician is not an oxymoron.

5.  He may have been born with the proverbial silver spoon, but he has worked his entire life, from the time he graduated college and taught science in an inner city school in New York City to the six years he served as U. S. Senator for Minnesota. He has always worked hard to serve Minnesotans.

6.  He can relate to people across all lines, including minority cultures, GLBT, the intellectual community, people living at the poverty level, and everywhere in between. Mark Dayton can connect with all Minnesotans. He's ready, willing and able to go to work to make this a better state.

7.  He served as a Commissioner under Rudy Perpich and thus learned how to bring jobs to Minnesota. Perpich would go anywhere and talk to anyone to bring in jobs. Dayton is eager to do the same.

8.   Mark Dayton is highly electable and can win the general election in November. He's won statewide elections before. He knows how to run a hard campaign and he knows how to win. He's got a multitude of supporters all over the state.
 
9.  He always listens carefully to what his constituents have to say about the issues. He's genuinely interested in each person he talks to.
